Erin & Steve’s Cork Factory Hotel Wedding
I’ve photographed so many weddings in my career as a photographer, and I can’t help but be impressed every time a couple adds their own unique touch to the wedding. Even with all the hurdles that come with wedding planning, it’s heartwarming to see when my couples go the extra mile to make their celebration special.
Erin and Steve’s wedding at the Cork Factory Hotel was no different. Erin is an expert at the craft of making wonderful paper flowers, which she took advantage of and made hundreds that she used as decor at her wedding. And man that was gorgeous (to look at and to photograph too!). Not only did I love photographing this wedding, but I also enjoyed getting to know Erin and Steve and all the little quirks that make them a couple.
Meet Erin and Steve
On October 26, 2019, Erin, a first-grade teacher from Delaware, and Steve, from Malvern, had gone hiking together to Hawk Mountain. And while it might seem like there’s nothing special about going hiking together as a couple, it turned out to be a memorable day for my couple as that was the day that Steve popped the question! Erin told me that as they stopped at the rocks at the top of the mountain, Steve proposed to her.
It was a big yes! But the comic angle to the situation was when Steve had to keep the ring back in his pocket because Erin thought it was too big and might fall off her finger while coming down the mountain.
From then to now, they have been together with Steve enjoying Erin’s DIY crafts and baking skills and Erin loving Steve’s passion for cooking and his excellence at fixing things around the house (especially after he breaks them!). Just like their proposal day, they still love to go on hiking trips and picnics together, checking out new restaurants, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune even after working for long hours.

Erin and Steve’s wedding day was super windy, so we took most of our photographs indoors. I started photographing the couple from the time they began getting ready. I got some beautiful shots of Erin with her bridesmaids and then a few solo portraits when she was ready to head out for the ceremony. The one where I photographed her sitting on a window sill came out just as I had imagined.
Before the ceremony, Erin did a first look for Steve. It was such a picture-perfect moment. The two held hands and embraced each other as if it was really the first time they were meeting each other. Before we moved to the ceremony site, I took some more photos of the couple and with their wedding party.
The Cork Factory Hotel was a superb wedding venue and a treat for me as a photographer. It had a wooden ceiling and rustic chandeliers that also matched the vibe of the venue. While the warm lighting helped me take indoor photos, the chandeliers sure added their own elegance to the photographs as well. This was one of the most incredibly locations I have photographed a wedding in.
After a sweet ceremony and some more portraits, Erin and Steve had their first dance. Although I get to see that look of love in all the weddings I photograph, it still makes me super happy every time I see it. It’s such a pure moment! And even though the bride and groom are surrounded by so many people, at that moment, it seems like all they can see is each other. The reception progressed with a father-daughter and a mother-son dance. I loved how Steve’s mom didn’t shy away from showing off her moves! It’s always one of the most memorable moments of a wedding when the parents or the grandparents show off their moves on the dance floor.
After some more dancing with other guests, I took aside Erin and Steve for some night portraits of them as newlyweds.
