This past weekend we had an amazing opportunity for a Spring Merchant Social Wedding with Kara and Jeff. We love going to new places for weddings. When Kara reached out and told us about her wedding plans at the Merchant Social we were really excited. Our first time meeting Kara we were photographing her sister Becky’s wedding almost two years ago. It was really exciting to see familiar smiles and get to catch up with everyone, too! We started off with Kara’s getting ready photos at an amazing Air BnB on the bay. It’s also so fun (and an easy job for us) to capture these moments when everyone is all smiles and laughs. From the moment we arrived it was just a great time. We popped outside for a few shots then got Kara ready to meet her soon-to-be husband!

Merchant Social – The Venue
The Merchant Social describes itself as the “rural retreat for the urban soul” and I feel like that is dead on. It’s this cool hidden gem located in North East Maryland that’s super close to the Chesapeake bay. After the first look we played around the area with the wedding party and the couple. Afterwards they hid for a little quiet time while guests started to arrive for their ceremony. Luckily the weather was perfect so after the ceremony everyone got to hang outside for cocktail hour and mingle in the amazing Spring weather.Kara + Jeff – The Couple
This amazingly nomadic couple started their story off in 2012 in Harrisburg PA where they both worked together at Applebee’s. Shortly after Kara left and they kept it going via Facebook. In 2013 they official kicked the relationship off and started dating. From that point point on they lived in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland together moving a total of four times. I think anyone who has moved can say that if they can survive moving together four times they’re pretty much set for life! They’re the couple that loves the outdoors. From camping, hiding to the beach if its outside they seem to love it! Fun Fact: On their second date they went to see Iron Man 3 in the theater. That was the one and only time they’ve been to the movies since they started dating!Don’t forget to leave the Kara and Jeff a message below!!
