Christina & Ryan’s Summer Appleford Estate Wedding
If you are looking for an elegant wedding venue in Pennsylvania – with stunning interiors and picturesque outdoors – the Appleford Estate is worth considering. And I say this from experience. I photographed Christina and Ryan’s wedding in this beautiful Villanova venue, and besides the flawless planning by my couple, it was also the location that made the wedding so memorable for me. For me, it was a dream venue! Since there were so many spots for wedding photos, I barely had to waste any time thinking about where I was going to create their wedding photos. Surrounded by love, incredible energy, and the lushest garden, I enjoyed every moment I spent photographing Christina and Ryan’s wedding.
Christina & Ryan’s Story
Christina is from Garnet Valley, and Ryan is from Springfield. Our bride is a foodie who loves to travel and, of course, cook and eat. The only sport she’s ever loved is dancing which she’s been missing a lot these days with no Broadway due to the pandemic. Christina is a true nerd at heart, with a constant desire to learn whatever the topic. On the other hand, Ryan loves to ski, run, and travel. Coming from the Philadelphia area, he is naturally an avid Eagles fan.
Ryan had proposed to Christina on Laguna Beach in California, on New Year’s Eve in 2019. He had gone for an early morning jog and asked Christina to meet him for a little walk on the beach. He led the proposal by asking what Christina wanted to do in the next decade, and she gave him a sassy reply. As she responded, she looked over and saw a ring sparkling. That’s when Ryan got down on one knee, saying he wanted to marry her in the new decade. This gave Christina a sweet shock, but, of course, she said yes, and here they were, hosting a wedding in the most exquisite venue.
Appleford Estate Wedding Photography
The Appleford Estate is a gorgeous 24-acre historic Pennsylvania farmhouse at the heart of the Philadelphia Main Line. From ponds to a waterfall to manicured gardens and tall, majestic trees – the estate has it all. This estate has been used as a wedding venue for more than 40 years to create everlasting memories. The estate’s interior is as phenomenal as the outdoors, so it offers plenty of spots for wedding photography too. I especially loved photographing my couple and their bridal party outdoors. The lush greenery at the Appleford Estable was exceptional, and I loved highlighting that in the wedding photos.
There were some very emotional moments at this wedding, and the bride’s father’s speech was one of them. During his speech, Christina’s father spoke about a dollar bill she had given him when she was younger because he said he couldn’t afford to buy something. He brought out the dollar bill during his speech and mentioned how he carries it everywhere with him. It was such a heartwarming moment. And then the dancing and the partying began! The energy in the room was just phenomenal, and all the guests, including my bride and groom, danced the night away.
