Knowlton Mansion Wedding Photos

The Couple

The bride and groom met at a tattoo shop. She needed a little fix to her tattoo and he was an amazing tattoo artist. All it took was a little permanent ink and some laughs and they were on their way to their happily ever after. Along the way they really enjoy playing pranks on each other so what better day to get married than April fools day!! When he proposed it was on a random Friday and he told no one he was doing it. She honestly thought it was another prank he pulling off but not this time!

The Wedding Day

This was my first Knowlton Mansion Wedding and I was super excited to visit. When I would talk to the bride she would always say things like “You’re going to love it!” and damn she was right. Its a Philadelphia wedding venue but when you pull in you honestly feel like you instantly were transported away from the big city. Knowlton Mansion has this amazing feeling to it and when you enter the mansion you instantly feel transported back in time.

Each room has a different feel to it and they did a great job of making them all slightly unique in their own way. The groom got ready in the first floor area while the bride had the second floor on lock down. When I arrived we did the groom prep first along with some portraits and then headed upstairs for the bride.

The couple didn’t do a first look before their wedding ceremony so we tried to do as much before the ceremony as we could. I was able to do all of the groomsmen and bridesmaids photos beforehand. It was a super cold and windy day so we popped outside really briefly. Luckily the Knowlton Mansion is the super easy to work with. We were able to stay inside and create stunning photos together.

About Knowlton Mansion

The Knowlton Mansion is a beautiful wedding venue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This venue, though, is unlike a lot of Philadelphia wedding venues. From the moment couples and step foot on this vast mansion, they will be in love with the amazing architecture and landscape. There is plenty of onsite parking for your guests so you don’t have to worry about roaming around the City looking for parking. The estate, which was originally constructed back in the 19th-century, was restored by Conroy Catering. When they restored this country estate in 1999, they did add contemporary elements but retained many of the classic Victorian touches so that its past could still be celebrated. Keeping that classic esthetic made it so easy and fun to create photos for my couple.

The rooms within the mansion all seemed to have their own personality and provided for unique photo opportunities. It was so super cold and windy day for this wedding but wasn’t a problem at all because the indoor locations made it fun to stay inside and create portraits for the couple.
