Sample Wedding Day Timeline

First Look & No First Look

These are rough draft wedding timelines to help guide you in your planning. There are a lot of factors that come in to play when putting your timeline together. We sit down with all of our couples to help guide them to the perfect wedding day timeline. When setting up a timeline, the most important part is creating a day that allows you to truly enjoy the day and reduces your stress. If you’re on the fence about a first look check out our First Look Guide

Timeline With a First Look

12pm-2:15pm

Prep Photos

We’ll start with one partner then head over to the other. About an hour with each one.

2:15pm-2:30pm

First Look

We can set up a private first look or have your friends and family join in!

2:30pm 3:00pm

Wedding Party Photos

We’ll start with the full group shots. Have some fun with the group then break it down to the smaller groups.

3:00pm-4:00pm

Couple's Portraits

We’re going to go out and tour the place and create some amazing photos together!

4:30pm-5:00pm

Ceremony

We’re discrete and respectful during the ceremony all the while capturing all the amazing little moments.

5:00pm-5:20pm

Family Portraits

We can do family portraits before or after the ceremony. Another perk of doing a first look. The amount of time really depends on how large the list is. Click here for our family photo tips.

5:20pm-10:00pm

Reception

Go enjoy the cocktail hour. It’s time to celebrate! This is our time to capture your day in all the amazing candids of your friends and family.

Timeline With No First Look

1:30pm-4:00pm

Prep Photos

We’ll start with one partner then head over to the other. About 1 to 1.5 hours with each. We’ll try to get more done during this time (ie groomsmen portraits) vs a First Look timeline so we don’t have to rush during the cocktail hour.

Ceremony

We’re discrete and respectful during the ceremony all the while capturing all the amazing little moments.

Endless Options

These are just options for your wedding day. You can do anything you want and create the perfect timeline that makes sense to you both. The key to a great timeline is allowing time to do the things that you want to do so you don’t feel rushed or stressed. One thing that would change a lot in the above wedding day timelines would be a church ceremony. Those are a lot longer and usually here’s a good amount of time between the ceremony and reception. If you need any help or have questions about your timeline send us an email. We would be more than happy to help out!
